mbiomics is looking for motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Microbiology team as Laboratory Assistant. You will play a central role in our innovative research team. We are looking for an individual with proven laboratory experience to support the team, strong organizational skills and a genuine passion for actively participating in future-oriented projects in the field of microbiome research.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform sterilization and disinfection of labware.
  • Manage Biohazard Level II (Bio-II) waste sterilization and disposal.
  • Organize and maintain cleanliness in laboratories and the sterilization room.
  • Operate the laboratory dishwasher for cleaning plasticware and glassware.
  • Maintain adequate level of consumables and labware in the laboratory.
  • Conduct routine quality control (QC) checks on laboratory equipment.
  • Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor stock levels of laboratory consumables and chemicals.
  • Conduct routine environmental hygiene monitoring.
  • Receive and process laboratory deliveries.
  • Assist team members with reagent and microbiological media preparation.
  • Document routine laboratory maintenance work and media preparation activities.
  • Provide support to team members as needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a biological/biochemical/biotechnological laboratory is mandatory.
  • Willingness to learn about microbiology and new technologies.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to following protocols and maintaining compliance with laboratory safety regulations.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Fluent English language skills required, German language skills a plus.
