kiutra
Do you want to shape the future as part of a diverse, international team in a fast-growing, deep-tech company? Then read on!
At kiutra, we contribute to the development and application of quantum technologies by offering innovative and sustainable cooling solutions based on our unique magnetic cooling technology.
We are developing advanced, highly complex technical systems that tightly integrate hardware and software. Our work combines precision control algorithms, low-level device communication, and distributed system architectures.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Software Developer (f/m/d) with a strong focus on Python-based device control, distributed architectures, and algorithmic system design.
Responsibilities
• You design and implement software for hardware device control — primarily in Python
• You develop and maintain distributed system architectures
• You implement low-level communication interfaces (e.g., Ethernet, serial protocols, field buses, custom protocols)
• You develop, optimize, and maintain control and regulation algorithms
• You integrate sensors, actuators, and embedded subsystems into scalable software architectures
• You ensure the robustness, reliability, and performance of complex systems
• You collaborate closely with hardware, systems engineering, and application teams
Requirements
• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
• You have strong professional experience in Python software development
• You are familiar with modern software engineering practices — clean architecture, testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and version control
• You have experience designing distributed systems and service-oriented architectures
• You have a solid understanding of low-level device communication and hardware interaction
• You bring interest in or hands-on experience with control systems and algorithm development
• You have strong analytical skills and a genuine enthusiasm for tackling complex technical systems
• You are fluent in English — German is a plus, but not required
Ideally, you also bring experience with async programming and concurrency in Python, familiarity with Linux and Docker, and a background in control theory or physical system simulation. Any experience working close to hardware or in scientific and technical environments is a bonus.
