What is the role about?
Key Responsibilities:
Validate metering systems for accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Create and execute test plans and scripts focusing on functionality, performance, and interoperability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues during validation.
Analyze test results and generate detailed reports with improvement recommendations.
Automate testing processes and develop validation tools using programming skills.
Maintain test environments (hardware/software).
Stay updated on metering standards, trends, and best practices.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and QA activities.
Technical Consultation & Support:
Provide technical guidance on meter integration and DLMS standards.
Support stakeholders, vendors, and utilities with interoperability and compatibility issues.
Deliver training and documentation on metering processes and standards.
Follow support workflows and SLAs for efficient issue resolution.
Offer on-call support outside business hours as needed.
Use MS Office tools for communication and reporting.
Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
Learn from internal knowledge bases and resolve on-site issues to minimize service disruption.
Preferred Knowledge:
Familiarity with smart metering, AMI, HES, and MDMS systems is an added advantage.
You fit in with us, if…
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in validation, testing, or quality assurance, preferably in the metering industry.
- Strong understanding of metering principles, including DLMS/COSEM standards.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python. Added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work well in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and certification processes related to metering systems would be beneficial.
- Ability to work in a team.
- A keen eye for identification of errors and problem-solving in complex environments.
- Good presentation and report writing skills. (preferred)
