As we scale our technology from development toward industrial production, we are looking for a motivated intern to join our Scale-Up Team.

Key Responsibilities
As part of BTRY’s Scale-Up Team, you will work closely with senior engineers and support the development, testing, and documentation of battery materials, cells, and manufacturing processes.
- Support senior engineers with laboratory experiments and scale-up activities.
- Perform electrochemical and material characterization and document the results.
- Support the planning and execution of Design of Experiments (DOE) studies.
- Collect, organize, and perform initial analysis of experimental data.
- Prepare clear experiment summaries, project reports, and presentations.
- Maintain accurate and traceable records of experiments, samples, materials, and results.
- Fabricate coin cells and prepare samples according to established procedures.
- Ensure that samples, data, equipment, and documentation are properly stored and organized.
- Support the maintenance of laboratory equipment, inventories, and standard operating procedures.
- Follow laboratory safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of experimental and scale-up workflows.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong interest in battery technology, manufacturing, and process scale-up.
- Comfortable performing hands-on laboratory work with attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of experimental design, data analysis, and technical documentation.
- Experience with coin-cell fabrication, electrochemical testing, or battery materials is an advantage but not required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; experience with data-analysis software is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Organized, reliable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Able to follow established procedures while raising questions and suggesting improvements when appropriate.
Formalities
- Title: Scale-Up Engineering Intern
- Job type: Full-time internship (CHF 2,000 per month)
- Workload: 100% for 6–12 months
- Start date: As soon as possible
- Location: Dübendorf (primarily on-site, with limited hybrid flexibility depending on the activities)
