Your mission

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a central role in shaping, building, and scaling our SaaS platform. You will design and maintain modern software architectures, create technical concepts and implement backend services, to ensure reliability, security, and a performant system. Working closely with other backend developers, product managers, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers, you will help drive our platform forward while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to strategic technical decisions.

This full-time position is remote-first, with occasional collaborative sessions at our office near Munich. Ideally you live in Germany, so it’s easy to meet each other.

In Short:

  • Min. 5 years experience in SaaS Backend Developments
  • Knowledge about a scalable Cloud Software architecture
  • The stack we use:
    • Node.js with Typescript
    • Elixir (big plus)
    • AWS Cloud: ECS, RDS, Lambda, …
    • Databases: Postgres, Redis
    • CI/CD: Docker, Github Actions, Pulumi
  • Quality: Tests, Code Reviews, Security Best practices
  • Technical lead experience: Mentoring other Devs, Pair Programming
  • Good Communicator in English (german is a plus)
  • Monitoring & Observability
  • Based in Germany with a permanent German working permit

Your profile

  • Experienced and strategic: You bring at least 5 years of backend development experience, including responsibilities as a technical lead. You are strong in architectural planning, system design, and understand how to build scalable, secure, and maintainable B2B SaaS platforms.

  • Backend expert: Proficient in Node.js and TypeScript; Elixir is a big plus. You have experience working with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and Redis.

  • Cloud Native: You are experienced in AWS including it’s offered main services like ECS, RDS, Lambda, … and know how to design services to run efficiently and securely in the cloud.

  • Deployment: You are comfortable deploying containerized applications with Docker and understand reproducible deployments using Infrastructure as Code (we use Pulumi with TypeScript) using a CI/CD pipeline like Github Actions.

  • Quality and security: You care about clean, maintainable code and are comfortable writing tests, performing code reviews, and following security best practices. Familiarity with ISO standards (27001 & 9001) and vulnerability management is a plus.

  • Reliability & Observability: Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. OpenTelemetry or similar) and being able to understand the connections and implications between different services.

  • Collaborative mentor: You enjoy sharing your knowledge through pair programming and mentoring other Developers. You value teamwork, good communication, and close collaboration with colleagues and product management.

  • Communicator: You are fluent in English; German is a big plus.

  • Based in Germany with a permanent German working permit
