What is Steuerboard?

We're building the all-in-one platform for the next generation of tax offices.

here's what that actually means:

the core idea: we build tools that make tax and finance more efficient and scalable by rethinking core disciplines with AI:

  • Advisory - Manually screening data to find risks and opportunities for clients costs a lot of time but is key. AI is better and more scalable than any accountant.
  • Reporting - manually analyzing big data? Not anymore. Get the next action steps right at your fingertips.
  • Automation - Getting rid of repetitive tasks. They shouldn’t be done by people.

    tl;dr we need someone who can build fast, think big, and doesn't mind wearing multiple hats. You'll be crafting the foundation of a new generation tax platform used by tens of thousands of businesses. If you've ever wanted to see your code shape an entire economy, this might be your jam.

    the bigger picture: we are not just doing a “tax application”. We are building the foundation of how european businesses handle finance and tax - one of the most important pillars of our economy. We will not only level up thousands of tax offices but also tens of thousands of businesses.

    Our product will be the foundation for the next generation of tax-offices. For this it needs to thread an impossible needle: deep enough for complex data handling, accessible enough to make handling tax easy.

    What you’ll actually do:

  • Build impactful features to solve real world problems
  • Pioneering AI agents for tax processing
  • Collaborative tools that streamline operations between tax offices and clients
  • A powerful workflow engine that automates core processes
  • LLM orchestration that delivers reliable results
  • Work directly with customers to understand their workflows, needs and problems
  • Own projects end-to-end: Idea → architecture → shipping → iteration
  • Contribute to core product strategy, technical decisions and cultural foundations

    • You should probably:

  • have build things from the ground up with real users
  • be comfortable with our stack
  • Typescript, Nextjs, React
  • LLM APIs (anthropic, openai, mistral, etc.)
  • enjoy startup life - chaos, a lot of responsibility, fast decisions
  • have experience building with AI - f.e. you know how complex prompting works and how to get properly structured data back from an LLM
  • fix things without being asked
  • care more about the user experience than your nice code
  • its a bonus if you have been a founder or cto in the past
