YOUR IMPACT

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Commercial Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team as we continue our growth journey. In this role, you will influence our legal framework and align our business objectives with legal guidance and hands-on execution.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the structuring, drafting, and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including procurement and supply contracts, collaboration agreements, R&D and technology partnership agreements, and other general commercial contracting documents across our business.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and key stakeholders on commercial risk, providing clear, business-oriented guidance and options.

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve contract management frameworks, including templates, playbooks, approval workflows, and contract lifecycle processes.

  • Strong skills advising on relevant commercial terms with a particular importance on, intellectual property considerations and confidentiality, ensuring alignment with company strategy and risk appetite.

  • Lead and drive negotiations with external partners, customers, suppliers and service providers, balancing legal protection with commercial outcomes.

  • Advise on regulatory and compliance matters, in particular, ensuring contracts appropriately address applicable requirements (e.g., trade/export control, counterparty screening, data/privacy etc.) through clear risk-based guidance, drafting, and stakeholder alignment.

  • Contribute to broader legal operations initiatives, including process automation, knowledge management and training for non-legal colleagues on contracting best practices.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Qualified lawyer with the First or Second German State Examination (Erstes / Zweites Staatsexamen) with admission as a fully qualified German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt/Rechtsanwältin) is a strong plus.

  • Alternatively, a Bachelor (LL.B.) / Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a focus on commercial contracting and significant experience in German and international contexts.

  • Strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, ideally gained in a fast-paced technology, industrial or high-growth environment.

  • Proven ability to design and implement contract management processes, templates and playbooks, with a mindset for operational excellence and scalability.

  • Commercial contracting experience within the context of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., trade/export control, counterparty screening, data/privacy etc.) is a strong plus.

  • Business fluency in both German and English, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with the evolving legal needs of rapidly scaling businesses, with proven adaptability, foresight and an emphasis on lean and efficient processes.
