Your Role:
This is a 6-month, part-time internship role (approximately 20 hours per week) focused on uncovering high-value content opportunities and connecting us with the right people behind them. As our Outreach Researcher, you’ll sit at the intersection of research, SEO, and outreach.
You won’t be pitching journalists, we already have that covered. Instead, you’ll focus on listicles, comparison posts, and “best of” articles where JobLeads should be featured. Your work will directly power our outreach campaigns by turning scattered online content into structured, actionable opportunities.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Use Ahrefs and search analysis to identify relevant listicles, comparison articles, and roundups in the job search and career space
- Explore SERPs and competitor backlinks to uncover high-potential outreach opportunities
- Identify the most relevant contact for each article—author, editor, or content owner
- Use tools like Hunter.io, LinkedIn, and manual research to find and verify email addresses
- Build clean, structured spreadsheets with article URL, domain, contact name, role, email, and opportunity notes
- Cross-check leads against existing databases to maintain quality and avoid duplication
- Contribute to ongoing outreach “mini-campaigns” by consistently surfacing new opportunities
What You'll Need:
- Currently studying or previously studied marketing, digital marketing, or a related field at university
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and organizing data clearly
- A resourceful, persistent approach to finding the right contact person
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively
- Good written English
- Interest in marketing, AI, or growth-focused roles
- Familiarity with Ahrefs or similar SEO tools—or the willingness to learn quickly using provided materials
Nice If You Have:
- Exposure to SEO, digital marketing, or link-building workflows
- Experience in research, lead generation, outreach support, or similar work involving contact discovery
- Experience researching authors, editors, or website owners for outreach
- Familiarity with tools like Hunter.io and LinkedIn for contact discovery
- An instinct for evaluating which content opportunities are worth pursuing
