With our Series A secured and international expansion underway, we're building the systems that will support the software that defines how our global frontline workforce gets trained. We're now hiring a Head of People to architect the culture, systems, and leadership infrastructure that will carry us through hypergrowth - with precision, performance, and heart.
💡 While initially titled “Head of People”, this role is scoped to evolve into a VP-level position in line with our growth trajectory and team maturity.

Our founder team has carried the people function to date, supported fractionally. That model has reached its limit.
We’re now looking for a hands-on, systemically-minded people leader to:
Take full ownership of people strategy & operations
Bring structure, performance focus, and clarity to our org design
Act as a sparring partner to founders, senior leaders, and team leads
This is a mission-critical role for doinstruct's international expansion. You're not walking into legacy debt. You're stepping in at exactly the right moment — when the people function moves from ad hoc to institutional — and you’ll define that transition from 80 to 150+ FTEs.
🛠️ What you’ll lead
🏗️ People Strategy & Operations
Build scalable processes across onboarding, performance, L&D, compensation, retention
Select and implement tools to increase automation and efficiency (e.g., Personio, Ashby)
Define and monitor People KPIs that reflect both performance and cultural health
Translate founder vision into systems that scale
Coach and level-up first-time managers and future leaders
🧬 Org Design & Leadership Enablement
Own org architecture and role clarity frameworks
Guide calibration and workforce planning conversations
Create rituals and toolkits for feedback, coaching, and performance
🤝 Talent Collaboration & Recruiting Quality
Partner with our TA Lead (Leonard) to ensure high-quality, efficient, equitable hiring
Drive strategic headcount planning, talent forecasting, and benchmarking
🧩 Executive & Investor Partnership
Interface with investors (HV, Creandum) for org updates, talent benchmarks, and intros
Bring external insight into compensation, tools, and org maturity
🧠 What we’re looking for
Scale-stage expertise: You’ve helped build a People function in a high-growth environment (Series A → B/C+)
Systems over slogans: You’re not here to “own culture” - You create the structures where culture and performance can thrive
Strategic partner mindset: You’ve earned the trust of CEOs and SLTs in high-stakes environments. You challenge with context, not ego.
Sustainable building: You have a track record of scaling performance and culture without burnout or bureaucracy.
Operator’s mindset: You bring system-thinking, clarity, and execution — with a bias for tools, documentation, and scalable processes.
Fluent in business, not just HR: You see people as a strategic growth lever. You’re a sparring partner to founders, not just a service provider.
Presence & language: Fluent in English (German a bonus), ideally Berlin-based or willing to relocate
Backgrounds we love:
Early-stage People leads or VPs from scaling startups
Strategically-oriented talent or org consultants (e.g., from McKinsey, BCG) who’ve made the move into in-house People roles
✅ What success looks like (6–12 months)
Performance and onboarding systems rebuilt for scale
Clear leadership communication rituals and performance expectations rolled out org-wide
Leadership enabled with toolkits and rituals for effective feedback, coaching, and reviews
People KPIs established and reported regularly to founders and investors
Strong partnership in place with TA and SLT; culture and performance scaled without dilution

Charlotte (CEO), Mona CPO (Product), Daniel (CTO) – Committed to People as a business priority; Mona will be your direct manager and sparring partner
2. Your team
Leonard (TA Manager) – Responsible for hiring pipeline, benchmarks, and process design
Anne (People & Culture Manager) - Responsible for all things People at doinstruct
3. Other
SLT across all functions – For org design, leadership enablement, and performance systems
VC stakeholders – HV, Creandum (regular syncs and feedback)
