Maintenance & Facility Manager (f/m/d)

The Maintenance & Facility Manager (f/m/d) is responsible for keeping production equipment, test rigs and the Germering site running safely and reliably. The role ensures that machinery is maintained and calibrated, the facility meets the requirements of aerospace hardware production, and equipment-related downtime is minimized as the actuator line scales.
Key responsibilities
Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for production equipment, machinery and test rigs used in actuator manufacturing.
Track and coordinate calibration schedules for measurement and test equipment together with Quality Engineering.
Manage facility operations including building systems (electrical, HVAC, utilities) and general site upkeep.
Coordinate external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance, repairs and facility services.
Maintain spare parts inventory for critical equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
Support the installation, commissioning and qualification of new production equipment as the site scales.
Manage facility-related budget, service contracts and vendor relationships.
Ensure health, safety and environmental (EHS) requirements are met across the site.
Equipment and asset management
Maintain equipment maintenance logs, service records and documentation for audit and traceability purposes.
Coordinate calibration of measurement and test equipment with Quality Engineering to ensure inspection and test evidence remains valid.
Identify and mitigate equipment-related risks to production continuity, escalating early where downtime risk is significant.
Support root cause analysis for equipment-related non-conformances, breakdowns or test anomalies.
Facility and safety management
Ensure the facility meets handling and environmental requirements relevant to aerospace hardware production (cleanliness, ESD control, environmental monitoring where applicable).
Manage site access control, security arrangements and general workplace safety protocols.
Coordinate emergency preparedness, fire safety and evacuation procedures for the site.
Liaise with landlords or building management and local authorities as needed on facility matters.
Relevant profile
Technical vocational training as a Meister (e.g. Industriemeister, Elektromeister) or equivalent technician/engineering background, with practical maintenance or facility management experience.
Experience maintaining production or manufacturing equipment, ideally in a precision, electromechanical or aerospace environment.
Working knowledge of facility systems (electrical, HVAC, utilities) and basic EHS regulations applicable in Germany.
Ability to read equipment and technical documentation, and to coordinate effectively with external service providers.
Hands-on, organized and safety-conscious working style, with good problem-solving skills under time pressure.
Good communication skills to coordinate across Production, Quality and external vendors.
