The Shopfloor Supervisor – Actuators (f/m/d) leads the day-to-day production floor for actuator assembly, manufacturing and test. The role ensures that production runs safely, on schedule and to the required aerospace quality standard, and is the first point of escalation for people, process and quality issues arising directly on the shopfloor.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and allocate daily and weekly production work across the actuator assembly team based on the production schedule and priorities.

  • Supervise production technicians on the shopfloor, ensuring work is carried out according to approved work instructions, drawings and travelers.

  • Monitor work-in-progress, throughput and on-time delivery against the production plan, and escalate delays or bottlenecks early.

  • Ensure correct, calibrated tools and equipment are used, and that handling, cleanliness and ESD/FOD requirements are followed on the floor.

  • Coordinate material and part availability with Procurement, Warehouse and Planning to keep the line running without avoidable downtime.

  • Lead, train and onboard production technicians, and manage shift scheduling and day-to-day performance on the floor.

  • Drive continuous improvement on the shopfloor (5S, lean, standard work) and support implementation of process changes from Engineering and Industrial Engineering.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure EHS (health & safety) requirements are followed at all times.

Quality and non-conformance handling

  • Take immediate containment action on the shopfloor when a quality risk, damaged part or suspected non-conformance is identified.

  • Support Quality Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering with objective evidence and shopfloor context for NCR investigations.

  • Ensure inspection status, quarantine status and identification of accepted, rejected or blocked hardware are correctly maintained on the floor.

  • Escalate recurring or safety-critical quality issues to the Head of Manufacturing and Quality without delay.

  • Support First Article Inspection and production inspections by ensuring the team provides timely, complete production evidence.

People and shift leadership

  • Schedule shifts and manage day-to-day attendance, workload distribution and technician development on the actuator line.

  • Conduct on-the-job training and coaching for new and existing production technicians.

  • Provide regular feedback on individual and team performance, and support recruitment of shopfloor staff as the team grows.

  • Act as the main point of contact between the shopfloor team and Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering leadership.

Relevant profile

  • Technical vocational training (e.g. Meister, technician qualification) or equivalent practical experience in production, assembly or manufacturing, with prior team leadership or supervisory experience.

  • Experience in mechanical, electromechanical or precision manufacturing is required; aerospace or space hardware experience is a strong plus.

  • Ability to read drawings, work instructions and travelers, and to translate them into clear, executable shopfloor tasks.

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, non-conformance handling and basic quality/traceability documentation.

  • Hands-on, structured and safety-conscious working style, with the ability to lead a team calmly under production pressure.

  • Good communication skills to coordinate across Production, Quality, Engineering and Procurement.

  • Eligibility to work in Germany

  • English language skills; German is a plus

  • Possibility to work on our Germering site (on-site role)
