Electrical Technician - Solar Arrays (f/m/d)
This is why you are going to love this role
As a part of the high-skilled manufacturing team, you as Dcubed's new Electrical Technician in our Solar Array (SA) production team will be supporting the manufacturing of solar arrays, focusing on the electrical and electronic aspects of the process. Responsibilities include building harnesses, integrating them into the SA, and working with epoxy and resins. Your precise and detail oriented working style will support your work in the assembly from small assemblies to the full tested product. Building up new production capabilities and maintaining existing capacity, is part of your wide spectrum of responsibilities.
Some SAs are PCB-based, so you will be assembling electronic components on PCBs, performing soldering and rework, and working in compliance with IPC standards. You will also be executing testing and measurement protocols on manufactured components. Additionally, as we are developing our SA production plant, you will work with engineers on the development and assembly of measurement devices and GSE for future production activities.
You key responsibilities
Assemble and integrate space-grade solar arrays (structure, substrates, cells, and harness)
Manufacture and install power and signal harnesses in accordance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3
Perform soldering and rework (interconnects, PCB) per IPC J-STD-001 Class 3
Solar cell stringing, interconnection, bonding, and layup integration
Apply adhesives, encapsulants, and control curing processes
Perform electrical testing: continuity, insulation resistance, Hi-Pot, and IV curve characterization
Set up and operate automated test benches for electrical characterization and data acquisition
Mechanical integration into deployable panel structures
Ensure strict ESD and FOD compliance; work in cleanroom environments
Maintain full traceability in line with ESA / NASA and ECSS standards
Identify non-conformities and support AIT activities
Your background & skills
Must-haves:
As a professional you are detail and quality focused, proactive, structured and hands-on, and are not afraid to carry responsibility
As a colleague, you are supportive, friendly and approachable
Education: Technical degree or vocational training in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
2–5 years in aerospace, electronics manufacturing, or high-reliability industries
Experience in harness assembly, PCB assembly, or space/aviation hardware production
