Tasks
Your role on our growing, highly motivated team is vital. You’ll translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions, contributing directly to the evolution of our platform and the transformation of the consumer goods industry.
In this position, you will:
- Support the company's growth: Preparing and evolving our processes and codebase to accommodate increased traffic and clients.
- Enhance Services: Improve existing backend and frontend services by writing maintainable code, refactoring as needed, and implementing new features to meet evolving business needs.
- Facilitate Full-Stack Development: Contribute across the stack, working on both backend and frontend components to deliver product features end-to-end.
- Collaborate with Product Management: Work with the product management team to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure efficient development processes.
- Contribute to Development and Best Practices: Participate in code reviews, learn from feedback, follow agreed-upon standards, and help maintain high-quality code, testing, and deployment.
- Innovate and Improve: Propose and implement improvements together with the team, balancing innovation with stability and delivery
Requirements
We are looking for team players who want to make a difference, have a strong sense of accountability, and can easily adapt to the curveballs of startup life.
You’ll work on a Java/Spring backend serving a React/TypeScript frontend, deployed on AWS, with a strong focus on maintainability and improvements. This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who wants to grow into a senior role over time, with mentorship, ownership, and increasing scope.
Skills and Experience
- Education: Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 2-5 years of experience in the SaaS product or marketplace field
- Delivering production features across backend and frontend, from implementation to deployment.
- Expertise in Java, REST APIs, TypeScript and React
- Bonus if you have experience with Spring Boot, Relational databases
- Bonus if previously exposed to start-up and scale-up environments

Location
- Remote within Portugal, with occasional in-person team gatherings in Lisbon or Porto. We are intentional about when, why, and how we meet in person.
