ABOUT US

Our mission at Avelios is to build the leading software platform for the data-driven digitization of hospitals and patient care. To do so, we have built a modular software platform that digitizes and optimizes workflows in hospitals with cutting-edge technology in a user-friendly way. With our software, we enable hospitals, doctors & nurses to provide their patients with the best possible care.
We are growing fast and want to keep expanding our team and business to fundamentally digitize healthcare for the better. We appreciate different backgrounds and see diversity as one of our strengths.

THE TEAM AND ROLE

You will own the operational and quality backbone behind how we plan, test, and ship our software. This includes ensuring cross-team alignment on scope and timing, maintaining release readiness across Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Project teams, and enforcing a disciplined QA operating model that ensures our software is safe, reliable, and audit-ready. You will lead and grow the Software Testing team, define testing standards and the testing automation strategy and build the processes that make progress measurable and quality transparent. Your work creates predictability in delivery, strengthens release quality, and surfaces risks early so leadership can act.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate mid- and long-term release and milestone planning between Project, Product, and Engineering. Align on scope and timing, ensure required inputs (e.g., configurations) arrive on time, and maintain predictable delivery plans that support customer project commitments.

  • Run end-to-end release readiness and coordination by integrating scope status, testing progress, defects, approvals, release note readiness, and rollout steps into a single source of truth. Drive follow-ups, close gaps, and prepare clear release and deployment information for customer communication.

  • Lead planned and unplanned release rollouts with DevOps: align rollout windows between DevOps and Project teams/customer, manage capacity and constraints, and ensure rollout tasks are fully prepared and deployment information is communicated on time.

  • Lead and grow the QA team: manage and develop Software Testers, ensure high-quality test cases and evidence, and partner with Product and Engineering on testing depth, prioritization, and resource needs in alignment with releases and longterm product quality.

  • Own the end-to-end QA strategy and operating model: define how quality is engineered into the product long-term—not merely how tests are executed today. Establish and govern processes, standards, automation direction, and quality gates; ensure adherence across teams; maintain audit-ready documentation; and introduce the supporting tooling ecosystem for test management, automation, and reporting.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience (e.g., engineering, business, information systems) with strong background in either Program/Release Management or Leading QA - ideally experience with both

  • Proven ability to bring structure to chaos: you set up lightweight processes, coordinate several stakeholder, keep an overview, and drive outcomes without creating bureaucracy.

  • Clear, structured communicator; you can turn many moving parts into a crisp plan and are able to justify quality decisions and trade-offs

  • Practical experience in driving cross-functional delivery coordination for and highly proficient in Jira

  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including designing and governing QA processes that are auditable and in modern test automation, CI/CD, and engineering workflows

  • Experience in driving manual and automated testing in complex products; experience in regulated or quality-critical domains is a plus

YOUR BENEFITS

  • Variety in your tasks and the opportunity to take ownership

  • An international, informal team structure in a motivating start-up atmosphere, allowing you to participate directly in our customer growth story and the overall success of Avelios

  • Ability to gain valuable hands-on experience in a startup backed by leading international VCs

  • Support for your personal development through continuous learning and feedback

  • Set your own rhythm with flexible working hours and trust-based time tracking

  • A virtual stock option package (VSOP) that lets you participate in Avelios’ long-term value creation

  • A monthly meal allowance up to 75 euros, full coverage of the Deutschlandticket, Urban Sports Club or a subsidized Wellpass membership, a bike leasing program and Corporate Benefits that give you access to discounts from a wide range of providers in various areas
