Job description
ATMOS Space Cargo is looking for a hands-on Workshop Technician to support the development and production of our next-generation re-entry systems. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, repairing, and maintaining hardware, tools, and workshop equipment that enable our engineering teams to turn ideas into reality.
Working closely with engineers and technicians, you will contribute to prototype manufacturing, production, and testing activities while ensuring our workshop operates safely and efficiently. This role is ideal for someone with a true craftsman's mindset who enjoys working with their hands, solving practical challenges, and finding creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- You will manufacture, assemble, and modify prototype and production hardware for our re-entry systems
- You will operate workshop machinery and manufacturing equipment, including saws, drilling machines, and other fabrication tools
- You will prepare and cut technical fabrics and other materials using CNC cutting machines and conventional workshop equipment
- You will perform mechanical assembly, fitting, drilling, fastening, and welding of components and structures
- You will maintain, repair, and continuously improve workshop tools, equipment, and fixtures to ensure reliable day-to-day operations
- You will support engineers during hardware integration, prototype manufacturing, and testing activities
- You will help organize the workshop, maintain materials and consumables, and contribute to a safe, clean, and efficient working environment
- You will identify practical improvements and proactively develop creative solutions to manufacturing and workshop challenges
Profile required
- Completed vocational training in mechanics, metalworking, mechatronics, composite manufacturing, or a comparable technical trade
- Hands-on experience in a workshop, prototype manufacturing, production, or a similar technical environment
- Experience working with carbon fiber (CFK), fiber-reinforced composites, or other advanced materials
- Enjoy solving practical problems and finding pragmatic, hands-on solutions
- Good written and spoken German and English
- Valid Class B driver's license, BE is a plus
