About the Role: ATMOS Space Cargo is seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing spacecraft systems, with a particular focus on mechanical or electro-mechanical systems as well as mechanisms. Your work will directly contribute to spacecraft performance, reliability, and functionality throughout the mission lifecycle, including launch, orbit, and re-entry.Key Responsibilities:• Develop and refine electro-mechanical systems, including actuators, sensors, and motors.• Design and analyze spacecraft mechanisms and interfaces such as deployable structures and moveable parts.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.• Work with manufacturing teams to transition designs from concept to prototype and final production.• Support testing and qualification of systems and components, iterating designs based on performance data and test results.Basic Qualifications & Requirements:• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.• At least 3 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in aerospace or a related industry.• Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar).• Experience in designing and analyzing electro-mechanical systems, or spacecraft mechanisms.• Experience with structural analysis tools (such as FEA tools like ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran).• Knowledge of materials science, particularly composites and lightweight materials.Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with spacecraft systems design, including knowledge of aerothermodynamics, structural loads, and re-entry vehicle requirements.• Hands-on experience with integration and testing of spacecraft mechanisms and electro-mechanical systems.• Innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex and multi-disciplinary systems.Why Join Us?• Be part of an innovative and rapidly growing space startup revolutionizing microgravity research.• Work with cutting-edge technology in a collaborative and international team.• Enjoy competitive salary, stock options, and career growth opportunities.• Contribute to meaningful projects that advance science and technology in space.Join ATMOS Space Cargo and help shape the future of space transportation!
